Crazy to think we’re already midway through 2022, huh?

I realized that it’s been a little while since my last update. Nearly 8 months to be exact…

I love the community that is coming together through this site, so I figure it’s as good of a time as any to just share how things are going and some cool things that I’ve got in the works.

If you’re a regular reader of my blog, I hope you’re as excited about these things as I am!

Building the Community

The timing just hasn’t been quite right to start building a community, but we’re quickly getting there!

Right now, I’m mostly on Facebook but I’ve been starting to use Twitter more. If you’re on either of those platforms, I would greatly appreciate it if you follow me!

In time, I’ll be starting up a Facebook Group and a Discord. The biggest problem at this stage is that I’m a one-person team which really limits what I have the mental bandwidth for. So I’d need to have some mods for the group/discord that I can trust so I don’t get overwhelmed.

I love the audience that this site has attracted and my goal is to give you all only the best and most helpful resources to make your D&D games as EPIC as possible!

Taking a Breather

I’ve been pretty busy on this site, especially these last few months as I’m trying to write class guides as fast as I can.

I try to really dig into the meat of each subclass/class which means they tend to be a bit longer and take more time/energy to produce. That said, I’m very proud of them and I’ve gotten only the nicest comments and emails from readers!

But I had some health problems pop up last week. They say a healthy body makes for a healthy mind, but I think the opposite must also be true too. The sudden dip in my physical health affected my mental health and I started having panic attacks.

So it’s become necessary for me to take a breather. I’ll be taking another couple of weeks to myself to recover, though I’m not completely unplugging which means I’ll still be happy to respond to comments/messages here and on my social media profiles.

Honestly, there’s a fair bit of behind-the-scenes stuff that I’ve been trying to get to. Writing (almost) daily content for the last few months has made it hard to get to it, so I’ll be looking forward to that.

So I’ll be tidying up my older articles, fixing a few minor site design issues, etc.

I’ll be back to releasing new content on July 12!

Expanding the Party

One thing that has started becoming incredibly clear is that I’m going to need some help.

My goal from the beginning was to make Tabletop Joab the most helpful D&D site on the web. Chasing that goal and having written 256 articles myself in 19 months, it’s time to start building the party.

So if you or someone you know is interested in writing about D&D, reach out via my contact page.

Not only will expanding the party help publish content faster, but it will also allow for new types of content that I know readers will benefit from.

I’m currently talking with a couple of INCREDIBLY talented miniature painters about making a section of this site dedicated exclusively to miniature painting tips and guides. I’ve already published a beginners guide to painting miniatures, but I think bringing in the pros to share their genius will be super helpful!

I’ve also found some incredibly talented and witty people to help with a super-secret project that I’m working on behind the scenes. It’s going to be EPIC!

It’s too early to announce just yet, but I’ll be announcing it via my newsletter first. If you aren’t already subscribed to my newsletter, you can sign up at the bottom of this article!

Additionally, it’s looking like I’ll be able to release the first full adventure from Tabletop Joab this year. As I mentioned in the last update, this is probably what I’m most excited about!

Conclusion – Blog Update #4

It still just blows my mind how many readers this site is getting. It’s incredibly exciting and I’m so thankful for all of the support and kind words I’ve been receiving.

Exciting things are just around the corner and I can’t wait to share them with you!
